Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Skilled Migrants drawn in August were up 30% on the same period 12 months ago. 2,692 EOIs were drawn and, of those, 479 or 18% were for EOIs with fewer than 140 points. The last draw of the month (31 August) saw 940 EOIs drawn – the highest number in any two-week period for the last 2 years.
The upwards trend in EOIs being drawn over the past 2 years is unmistakable. However as immigration becomes a more contentious topic worldwide we would not be surprised if New Zealand politicians to responded by reducing the quota for Skilled Migrants – especially in 2017 which is election year.
So, if you are thinking of migrating to New Zealand, act now. There has never been a better time to apply for residency!
